Improved nursery techniques and extension services are being provided to the SFNTCs of the Forest Department and private nurseries and individual entrepreneurs. Under this project, BFRI is providing technology transfer and training. Social forestry nursery training centers set up as exhibition centers in three regions of Bangladesh – Jessore, Gazipur and Chittagong are imparting training to the forest department and private nursery owners to improve the production process of saplings. Through tissue culture, 0.5 lakh high quality seedlings are being produced for planting in private or non-government forest land.
