NGO Activities – Sustainable Forests and Livelihoods (SUFAL) Project

The World Bank has approved the Community Operations Manual (COM) for the implementation of community-based forest management programs, and it has been approved by the Ministry. Under the COM, collaborative forest management programs are being implemented that involve 41,000 forest-dependent families. To facilitate this work, 07 Community Mobilization Officers are providing assistance in implementing NGO programs following the advice of divisional forest officials. Under the supervision of 07 NGOs, activities such as selecting forest-dependent villages (FV/VSF) using the PIP method, selecting beneficiary families, baseline surveys, committee and sub-committee formation, opening bank accounts, and training are underway, and a brief summary of the progress of implementation until February 2023 is provided below:
