AIGAs and will be implemented in up to 615 villages in or close to forests, covering about 41,000 households. A Community Operations Manual (COM) will elaborate the rules and criteria for the implementation of AIGAs. NGOs will be contracted by BFD to mobilize, organize and provide training to communities to plan and implement the AIGAs and manage the AIGA fund. The CFMCs will open a bank account and start community savings and initiate village development activities and receive training for AIGAs. An important aspect will be organizing and targeting women and adolescent girls with tailored training and income generation activities. These activities will be organized in a way that is conducive to women’s participation and compatible with their multiple responsibilities.

 

• Extensive consultation under the guidance of COM on SUFAL project and CFM have been undertaken in villages around the targeted forest areas.
• NGOs have listed 615 Forest Conservation Villages around targeted forest areas on the basis of criteria prescribed in COM and General Body (FCV) of the villages have been formed through organizing village meeting.
• 41,000 forest dependent beneficiary households identified through Community Identification of Poor (CIP) process.
• Baseline survey completed.
• Capacity building training of 27,675 person completed.
• Hands on training has given to 796 beneficiaries.
