However, pests such as defoliators, borers, and pathogens pose significant risks to forest health and productivity.<\/p><p>The PMP developed by the Bangladesh Forest Department encompasses various proactive measures to prevent, monitor, and manage pest outbreaks effectively. It involves:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Surveillance and Monitoring:<\/strong> Regular surveillance and monitoring of forest ecosystems to detect signs of pest infestation at an early stage.<\/li><li><strong>Pest Identification and Risk Assessment:<\/strong> Identification of pest species and assessment of their potential impact on forest health, biodiversity, and ecosystem services.<\/li><li><strong>Integrated Pest Management (IPM):<\/strong> Implementation of integrated pest management strategies, including cultural, mechanical, biological, and chemical control
