Assessment Information
Red List Category

& Criteria (Status):

Data Deficient (DD) ver 3.1
Justification: The first occurrence of Aralia foliolosa in Bangladesh is reported from Chattogram by David Prain in 1903. Later, Heinig (1925) again recorded its distribution in Chattogram. In 2008, Islam and Hossain noted its distribution in Chattogram and Sylhet, might be based on earlier report. However, current investigation has not been encountered any record of its distribution in Sylhet. Very recently, Rahman et al. (2018) reported the species from the Lawachara National Park of Moulvibazar based on single specimen collected from the area in 2009. Since then, there has been no other report on its occurrences in anywhere in Bangladesh, and no other information on its distribution, abundance, population status, and trends is available. Having these inadequate data, the Helicia robusta is therefore assessed as Data Deficient (DD).
Level of Assessment: Species
Date Assessed: March 2020
History: Following IUCN Red List Criteria, this species has not been assessed in Bangladesh. However, Islam and Hossain (2008) reported its status as Least Concern (lc).
